Her grandfather played in a Haitian kompa band, her grandparents loved British pop-country and reggae music, and her parents introduced her to Asian pop culture through anime and kungfu films, later k-pop, which shaped her appreciation for global music genres from an early age. Influenced by artists such as Mariah Carey, Billie Holiday, India.Arie, GrandMaster Flash, Stromae, Zazie, BOA, and P!nk, Sadezia’s musical identity is a fusion of soulful melodies and social critique, sprinkled with a little bit of magic.

Good stress exists. It comes when you love what you’re doing. -Sadezia Mystica

With a natural flair for entertainment, at age 3 she would walk into a room, spontaneously introduce herself, and start singing songs she made up. From the age of 7, Sadezia was performing in school choirs, plays, and local events. By 11, she began writing her own songs and stories, fueling her passion for creativity. Although she always knew her calling was in music, she chose to travel and explore the world before fully committing to her artistic career. During this time, she vlogged her journey, gaining business and world experience while also engaging in indie film and television gigs.

Beyond her fulfilling career in tech marketing, Sadezia has remained true to her passion in music. She channels her “rebel sage lady” energy into her art, creating anthems that blend social critique with personal expression and fantasy elements. Inspired by French artists like Stromae and Zazie, her music encourages personal growth and social enlightenment.

Don’t keep the peace with ignorance and neglect. Keep shining a light on the walls they ignore. – Sadezia Mystica

Through her rising voice in pop culture, Sadezia also advocates for more Black creators in tech, particularly in STEM fields, encouraging them to embrace Afrofuturism and use their skills to create better solutions for society.

A natural performer, Sadezia has graced stages in New York, California, Georgia, and China, captivating audiences with her emphatic, raw sound. Her music is deeply personal, drawing from real-life experiences and social inequities, transforming them into unapologetically honest lyrics. From singing in Disney World’s Candlelight Choir in high school to taking on lead alto and soprano roles, Sadezia has always sought to bring energy into the room. Her passion for music, creativity, and individuality continues to shine in her work, and she is determined to inspire others to do the same.

Always interested in anthropology, she calls her fans her “Tribe” and where they gather the “Dominion”. She encourages them to share ideas and remix her art on Disqus.
